Heartland Corvette Association Events for 2011

HCA TOUR OF CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL & CHARITY DONATION
On March 10th 2011, members of HCA met with Children's Hospital Development Officer Alyssa DeFrain to give our annual charitable contribution & receive a tour of the new hospital wing. The group congregated in the main lobby of the Hospital where President Terry, presented the check to Alyssa. After the presentation, Alyssa led the group to various areas of the new wing & also showed where our brick was placed in the patio floor with HCA's name engraved on it. During the winter season the patio doors are locked but our brick was still able to be seen from the window. Alyssa encouraged us to come back during the warmer season when the doors would be open to the patio. Attached are two pictures, courtesy of Alyssa, showing Heartland's brick & the patio during the warm season. Areas we toured included: the activities center for children, waiting areas outside the patient rooms, foyer with beautiful water features and walkways with informative artwork on the walls for children & adults alike. It is a beautiful facility & a must see if you ever get the chance to drop in.

Dates are HCA sponsored activities / socials.  Calendar does not include any sanctioned events or activities for surrounding clubs.
 

CONCOURS: The Concours was designed to produce a showing of individual refined examples of all automotive marquees.

   PEOPLE'S CHOICE CAR SHOW: This event is a non-judged Corvette show at which spectators can vote for their favorite Corvette - no stress, just fun events!
RALLY: An event in which the Corvette is driven on public highways and requiring the navigator to follow a specified route and other instructions.
  FUNKHANA: An event that is a low speed autocross like event with an added feature of a navigator to assist the driver and a variety of gimmicks that the driver and/or navigator must perform in order to successfully complete a run.
LOW SPEED TIME TRAILS (autocross): An event in which the Corvette is driven around a course (not on public highways and not wheel to wheel) in such a fashion as to set the quickest time for the course. Large isolated parking lots are often used.
  HIGH SPEED TIMED TRIALS: An event in which the Corvette is driven on one of the road-racing circuits (not wheel to wheel) in such a fashion as to set the quickest time for the circuit.
DRAG RACING: A wheel to wheel event in which the acceleration capability of the Corvette is determined in the 1/8 or 1/4 mile at established drag racing tracks.
